Director of CRAE awarded John Curtin Distinguished Emeritus Professor title

Founding Director of CRAE, Professor Harry Bloch from the School of Economics and Finance was awarded the title of John Curtin Distinguished Emeritus Professor by the Curtin Council in June 2013.

Professor Bloch has a national and international reputation as a scholar and research leader and is an inspiring supervisor of honours theses and PhD students. He is widely respected by his peers as is evidenced by the many scholarships fellowships and awards, and editorial and research appointments.

Professor Bloch’s academic reputation and service to Curtin University has been recognised by the award of the title of John Curtin Distinguished Professor in 2010 and as runner-up for the John de Laeter Research Leadership award in 2012.

The prestigious title of John Curtin Distinguished Emeritus Professor is one of the highest honours the University can award its academic staff and recognises Professor Bloch’s national and international distinction and significant contribution and commitment to the University in leadership and research.
