Transforming Learning at Curtin

Curtin converged

Curtin University is transforming teaching and learning in higher education. By 2016 all its courses will combine collaborative learning techniques with new and emerging technologies that will enable students to enjoy a genuine Curtin University education, from anywhere in the world, at any time, and in any mode.

The new Curtin model for Teaching and Learning is Curtin Converged, a mix of traditional lectures, flipped-classes, technology enriched environments and distributed learning techniques (Massive Online Open Courses (MOOCs) and high-end video and 3-D technologies) that actively engage students whether they attend classes on campus or from another location.

Work Integrated learning, leadership and Indigenous cultural awareness are embedded in curriculum to align the skills and knowledge of today’s graduate with the expectations of tomorrow’s employer. A new Curtin Extra Certificate complements the academic qualifications, formally listing and recognising any leadership and Work Integrated Learning experience students undertake outside the course requirements.
