Dr Susan Bolt

Vice-Chancellery

Dr Susan Bolt is passionate about fostering communities of practice to enhance collaboration and dissemination of teaching excellence. Her area of expertise is leadership in innovation and excellence in teaching and learning professional development. Under Susan's leadership, the Curtin Academy model and Peer-based Professional Learning Pilot Program were developed and approved. Susan leads a Curtin team in the Transforming Practice Program 2014 and University-wide implementation of peer review of teaching supported by a suite of professional development activities and resources. In 2011, the team she led was recognised through a Vice Chancellor’s Award for Innovation and Excellence. Susan also won a Curtin Excellence in Teaching Citation for academic leadership, staff development and scholarship of teaching and learning. Susan was the lead investigator for Curtin in an Australian Learning and Teaching Council grant (2011-2013). She was the inaugural chair of the Curtin Research in Higher Education Committee (2009-2012) which facilitated multiple professional learning opportunities for staff and is recognised internationally as an elected member of the Higher Education Research and Development Society of Australasia (HERDSA) Executive, a HERDSA Fellow, a member of the Panel of Assessors for the HERDSA Fellowship Scheme and through invitations to assess the Australian Awards for University Teaching (2009-2014).
