Associate Professor Georgina Fyfe

Faculty of Health Sciences

Georgina is Dean, Teaching and Learning, for the Faculty of Health Sciences. As such she leads quality and innovative teaching and learning across eight Schools, bringing to the role her experience in teaching, curriculum review, course coordination and student engagement. Georgina has developed and evaluated innovative curricular changes in the discipline area of Human Biology, and has incorporated effective strategies for reflective practice on feedback for her students. An early adopter of technology in the classroom, Georgina has developed, implemented and evaluated computer-based learning resources, and has led and worked with national teams on CAUT, ALTC, Carrick and OLT grant-funded projects for innovative approaches to engaging students and improving learning. One of Georgina’s key motivations is the enabling of others, especially in the area of scholarship of teaching and learning, and the support of Teaching Academic roles at Curtin providing opportunities for targeted professional development of staff. Georgina believes that the future of student learning will involve use of technology to personalise learning for students, provide more feedback to learners and teachers, and make learning more accessible for all.
